Went to see Rush in atlanta the 22. Wonderful show. Geddy keeps getting uglier too...but the music is still good.
I ran across someone the other day that was asking about a certain verse of scripture that says that if you lean on the Lord, He will give you the desires of your heart....and asked what does that mean? I basically pointed out that OUR desires are not always very Godly...that we want THINGS a lot of the time. God is not Santa Clause....He gives us what we need, not necessarily what we want...things work HIS time, not ours. He then asked if that went against the scripture..to which I replied...NO....If our trust is in God and we seek to discover His ways..to become alined and see things with a kingdom view rather than an earthly view...then we WILL be seeking what God seeks. Then more times than not...our desires, because of a right heart, will be more in tune with Gods' desires...then what we want will be what HE wants...and it will seem amazing how what WE pray for and wish to see will come to pass.
There was an individual who used to advertise on a little radio station I used to work at...love his name: The Revend Dr. Hank Williams....older black gentleman. He would breeze into town every so often and run his commercials...how he would be staying at such and such motel and to come by and see him. That sister Suzy had come to see him and the Lord had blessed her with a new car. Brother Johnny had been to see him and had recieved a gift of $10,000 dollars....come see me today and recieve your blessing.
Folks, God doesn't work like that..there are some famous pastors right now on the airwaves preaching a name it, claim it gospel...that isn't what God teaches....
The desires of our heart must reflect GOD...and there must be fruit....this fruit will be full of blessings...not the other way around. God may choose to give you things. He may choose to heal. He may choose to bless....but then again he may not. He will give us our desires, if those desires are His and conform to his good and perfect will....and then only.
Don't be decieved by those who want to lead you down a path that is not filled with Love, kindness and God's glory....we have a mission...and that mission is not always easy...DO YOU honestly think that if you pray for a new car that God will be glorifed if one just comes your way? It seems more feesable that God would grant you your desires if those desires were to be given the opportunity to show someone else just how wonderful God is today....if you really needed a car to do that...then God might get you one (I have seen him find church vans)....but that ain't necessarily what you need.
Pray God will conform your will into His today...then those deisres will have a motive that is pure and holy....

Happy July 4th a couple days early! Folks if you don't realize how special this day is...you need to think about it. We live in a country that was founded on the principles of equality. Even though it isn't perfect...there is no place on earth that has tried to live up to these principles..nomatter how much certain groups or people wish to complain. If you traveled to other countries you would realize why people wish to come here.
We live where liberty in speech, religion and persuite of your dreams is only limited by what YOU wish to accomplish. I thank all the vets. who have served and those who gave all....May God bless you and keep you.
